As part of our proposal for two residential blocks in the Barkarbystaden II Masterplan, we have also designed a mobility hub for the residents of the area. The hub would become the face of the development from the adjacent highway, and as such it needed a landmark character with a strong and clear design concept. Similarly to the residential development, the structure would be made from timber, with sustainable energy supply in the form of solar panels covering the roof. A simple yet playful structure gives the building its character, and the proposed floor to ceiling heights is adjusted such that the structure could be converted to other uses in the future, if needed.
