For the AW 14 fashion show design, we pushed our interest in weather phenomena to a new level. Taking inspiration from “The Deluge” by Turner, with the idea of a stormy night at sea as a starting point, we created a dark and wet space, and literally made it rain during the main show event.

The rain was produced by a sprinkler system with very fine nozzles, that created a misty and soft rain effect. The floor was covered with a black rubber flooring, treated with a wet-look varnish, which was then covered with a film of water for the show. The main design feature was the ceiling, for which we built a bespoke, undulating, black mirror finish stretched PVC surface, that covered the show space. The combination of black materiality, carefully considered light design, and the rainfall of the finale, made the show unusually atmospheric and a huge medial success.
